No Hoof No Horse? Proper Hoof Care

Did you know that one of the most popular topics discussed amongst trainers is about your horse’s hooves?

“I think everybody has feet problems, and I think it’s just one of those things that we talk about all the time,” says multiple World and Congress Champion trainer Kenny Lakins.

I spoke with some of the top trainers in halter, Western pleasure, jumping, and all-around to see how they care for their horses’ feet, as well as farrier George Pavelek, who has shod some of the top hunt horses in his area. They all shared their tips and experiences with shoes and bare feet in the January/February 2014 issue of the Equine Chronicle:

Pure Inspiration: Tammy Sronce & Her Recovery

In 2013 I had the pleasure to interview Tammy Sronce, a multiple world champion mounted shooter who is recovering from a traumatic head injury that left her practically immobile and helpless for quite a long time.
