Sharing Indiana Horse Racing News

One of my biggest missions when it comes to marketing in the horse racing industry has been to educate and inspire new fans and participants in the industry. Instead of just continually reaching out to people who know about ownership opportunities already because they’re active within the horse racing industry, the goal was to reach into mainstream media. I know there are so many people who grew up watching the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup, dreaming of being a part of the excitement. I know I was one of those. I would run to the barn after each race and dream that my pudgy pony or stocky Quarter Horse was wearing the garland of roses.

While mainstream media tends to prefer only sharing horse racing when there’s negative news, I decided to start with the mainstream horse industry–reach out to horse lovers and everyday horse owners. With this goal in mind, I’m excited that I have started a monthly column in a general horse-centric publication that is published and distributed throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Illinois. This is a great way to increase awareness of the opportunities for the Indiana horse racing industry through the Indiana Thoroughbred Alliance.

The publication is titled Saddle Up!

My first column debuted in the May 2021 issue, where I highlighted the opportunities to race with Indiana Grand Racing & Casino’s all-time leading stakes winning trainer and Indiana’s all-time leading breeder, Michael Lauer Racing Stables. Trainer Michael Lauer has a list of Indiana-bred and -sired two-year-olds that he has opened up partnerships for an incredible chance to be introduced to racehorse ownership.

I’m excited for this opportunity to reach more horse lovers to help increase awareness and excitement for the Indiana horse racing industry. I want to thank Cindy Courturier, editor of Saddle Up! for the editorial space and the creative freedom to use this space to support our breeders, owners, trainers and racetrack in Indiana!
